Multi-purpose dental applicator

Claim 2

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, and (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; c. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 3

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the dental applicator part at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 4

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said dental part further comprises: a. a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; b. the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; c. the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and e. a length of dental floss bonded to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of dental floss is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke.

Claim 5

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 3 wherein the yoke is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 6

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 3 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining a yoke with the tips of the arms of each yoke retained within a retaining well to shield the dental floss, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 7

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said dental part further comprises: a. a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; b. the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; c. the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and e. a length of abrasive tape affixed to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of abrasive tape is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke.

Claim 8

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 6 wherein the yoke is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 9

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 6 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining a yoke with the tips of the arms of each yoke retained within a retaining well to shield the abrasive tape, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 10

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said dental part further comprises a shank including a rubber tip gum massager at the remote end of the shank, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 11

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 9 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and rubber tip gum massager within a retaining well to shield the rubber tip gum messager, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 12

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said dental part further comprises a shank having a spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 13

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 11 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush within a retaining well to shield the spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 14

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 1 wherein said dental part further comprises a shank having a toothbrush head including bristles thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 15

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 13 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and toothbrush within a retaining well to shield the toothbrush, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 16

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; c. said dental part further comprising, (i) a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; (ii) the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; (iii) the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; (iv) the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and (v) a length of dental floss bonded to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of dental floss is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 17

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; c. said dental part further comprising, (i) a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; (ii) the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; (iii) the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; (iv) the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and (v) a length of dental floss bonded to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of dental floss is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 18

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 15 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the yoke at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 19

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 16 wherein the yoke is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 20

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 15 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining a yoke with the tips of the arms of each yoke retained within a retaining well to shield the dental floss, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 21

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; c. said dental part further comprising, (i) a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; (ii) the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; (iii) the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; (iv) the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and (v) a length of abrasive tape affixed to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of abrasive tape is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 22

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; c. said dental part further comprising, (i) a yoke including a first arm having a rounded upper tip, a second arm having a rounded upper tip and a base; (ii) the first and second arms joined to the base of the yoke at their lower ends and extending away from each other to form a V-shape with the respective upper tips at the top of the V-shape; (iii) the base being integral with the shank of the interchangeable removable member; (iv) the yoke offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; and (v) a length of abrasive tape affixed to the rounded tips of the yoke so that the length of abrasive tape is stretched taut between the tips of the yoke; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 23

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 19 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the yoke at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 24

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 20 wherein the yoke is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 25

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 19 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining a yoke with the tips of the arms of each yoke retained within a retaining well to shield the abrasive tape, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 26

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank including a rubber tip gum massager at the remote end of the shank, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 27

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank including a rubber tip gum massager at the remote end of the shank, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 28

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 23 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the rubber tip gum massager at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 29

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 24 wherein the dental part shank and rubber tip gum massager is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 30

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 23 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and rubber tip gum massager within a retaining well to shield the rubber tip gum massager, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 31

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank having a spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 32

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank having a spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 33

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 27 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 34

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 28 wherein the dental part shank and spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 35

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 27 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush within a retaining well to shield the spiral wound wire tooth cleaning brush, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.

Claim 36

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank having a toothbrush head including bristles thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 37

A multi-purpose dental applicator comprising: a. a handle member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) a throat section extending from the elongated shank and extending to a head section, (iii) the head section including an internal opening at the top of the head section leading to a generally inverted frustum shaped cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to a spherical cavity which in turn is contiguous with and leading to an arcuate cavity within the head section, (iv) the outer surface of the head section having threads thereon, (v) a slidable collar which partially rests around the throat section of the handle and having internal threads for mating engagement with the threads on the head section; b. an interchangeable removable member further comprising, (i) an elongated shank, (ii) the elongated shank ending in a spherical ball at one end, (iii) a stem extending from the spherical ball at a location diametrically opposite to an attachment point of the elongated shank and the spherical ball and in alignment with the elongated shank, (iv) a dental applicator part integral with the elongated shank at the end remote from the spherical ball; and c. said dental part further comprises a shank having a toothbrush head including bristles thereon, with the shank of the dental part offset at an angle relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member; d. whereby the interchangeable removable member can be removably retained within the head of said handle by insertion of the shank, spherical ball and stem into the head through the opening in the top of the head while the collar is resting partially on the throat of the handle, with the stem resting in the arcuate cavity, the spherical ball retained within the spherical cavity and a portion of the shank resting within the inverted frustum shaped cavity, and the collar is then threaded onto the head to thereby tighten the interchangeable removable member into the head.

Claim 38

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 31 wherein said inverted frustum shaped cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set at an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head and said arcuate cavity further comprises sidewalls which are set an angle of approximately 20 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the head whereby the stem of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the arcuate-cavity and the shank of the interchangeable removable member can be moved in a 20 degree arc within the inverted frustum shaped cavity to thereby orient the toothbrush at a desired angle relative to the head.

Claim 39

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 32 wherein the dental part shank and toothbrush is offset at an angle of approximately 35 degrees relative to the shank of the interchangeable removable member.

Claim 40

A multi-purpose dental applicator in accordance with claim 31 further comprising a retaining container including a shelf for supporting a removable tray, which removable tray further comprises a multiplicity of retaining wells for individually retaining the dental part shank and toothbrush within a retaining well to shield the toothbrush, and the shank, spherical ball and stem of each interchangeable removable member extending upwardly from the tray.
