Abstract

Abstract An acoustic apparatus for improved bass sound reproduction comprises a resonator, a vibrator, and a vibrator drive means. The resonator has a resonance radiation unit for radiating an acoustic wave by resonance, the vibrator has a diaphragm disposed in the resonator, the vibrator drive means has a motional feedback (MFB) means for detecting the movement of the diaphragm and negatively feeding back a motional signal corresponding to the movement of the diaphragm to the input side of the circuit, and the counteraction of the resonator on the diagram is canceled upon driving of the resonator whereby the vibrator may be invalidated as viewed from the resonator, and the vibrator and the resonator can be independently designed.

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 171 words
An acoustic apparatus comprising: a body portion having an internal cavity therein defining a resonator and having a port therein forming a resonance radiation unit for radiating an acoustic wave by resonance; a vibrator disposed in the body portion and having a diaphragm, including a direct radiation portion for directly radiating an acoustic wave outwards from the resonator and a resonator driver portion for driving said resonator, the driving of the resonator tending to produce counteracting air movement from the cavity of the body portion upon the diaphragm; and a vibrator drive means having a motional feedback means responsive to movement of said diaphragm for producing a motional signal corresponding to movement of said diaphragm and negatively feeding back the motional signal to the vibrator drive means, said vibrator drive means responding to the negatively fed back motional signal from the motional feedback means to effect motional feedback driving of said vibrator in a manner which substantially cancels counteracting air movement from the cavity of the body portion upon the diaphragm.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 171 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 73 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein: said body portion comprises a cabinet having a first opening in which said vibrator is disposed and a second opening serving as said resonance radiation unit, and said diaphragm of said vibrator constitutes said direct radiator portion on a portion thereof facing an outer region of said cabinet, and constitutes said resonator driver portion on an opposite portion thereof facing an inner surface of said cabinet.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 55 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said motional feedback means comprises a motional signal detecting means for detecting a motional signal corresponding to at least one of vibration deviation, velocity and acceleration of said diaphragm of the vibrator, and a feedback means for negatively feeding back said motional signal to the vibrator drive means.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said motional feedback means detects said motional signal in an electrical circuit manner from said vibrator drive means.
Claim 6
