Abstract
Abstract In a facsimile system, a document to be transmitted is read by a reader. The read image data is stored into an image memory. A control and processing section automatically selects a frame size of the image data in accordance with conditions of a transmission line to be used including a transmission distance between a calling system and a called system. The image data is framed by the selected frame size. The framed image data is then transferred through a MODEM to the transmission line. The facsimile system can effectively transmit the framed image data to the called system.
