Abstract

Abstract An aqueous oral preparation is provided having from about 0.5% to about 10% by weight of a peroxide compound such as hydrogen peroxide or urea peroxide and from about 0.01% to about 2% by weight of a compound providing fluoride or fluoride-containing ions in an aqueous composition. The compound may further include a thickening agent, such as carboxy polymethylene, a non-ionic surfactant, such as Pluronic brand poloxamer, buffering agents, stabilizers, glycerine, sweeteners, and deionized filterd water as a solvent. A variety of flavoring and/or coloring agents may also be added. A stable compatable and highly effective dental preparation is thereby provided.
