Abstract
Abstract A compound of the general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) (in which EAG represents an electron accepting group; R1 and R2 each represents a substituent except hydrogen; and R1 and R2, R1 and EAG, and R2 and EAG may be bonded together to form a ring) is incorporated into a silver halide photographic material. The compound of the formula (I) becomes oxidative after cleavage of the nitrogen-oxygen single bond in the molecule, and the compound displays an action as an antifoggant, a stabilizer and/or a black spot preventing agent in the photographic material.
