Abstract

Abstract A silver halide photographic material containing a specific magenta coupler and a heterocyclic mercapto compound is disclosed. The photographic material is raised in its resistivity to magenta fogging caused by contamination of developer with bleaching solution, without degradation of color reproducibility. The photographic material is comprised of a support having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer and a non-light-sensitive layer and the emulsion layer contains a magenta coupler represented by the following Formula I and at least one of the emulsion layer and the non-light-sensitive layer contains a compound represented by the following formula S. ##STR1##
