Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 36 words
A process for chiral reduction of ketones to the corresponding hydroxy compound which comprises contacting said ketone with Aspergillus niveus in a culture medium and recovering said hydroxy compound that is formed in the culture medium.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 36 words
A process for chiral reduction of ketones to the corresponding hydroxy compound which comprises contacting said ketone with Aspergillus niveus in a culture medium and recovering said hydroxy compound that is formed in the culture medium.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 45 words
A process for preparing 5-{(R)-1-hydroxy-2-[(R)-1-methyl-3-phenylpropyl)amino]ethyl}salicylamide which comprises culturing the microorganism Aspergillus niveus (ATCC 20922) in a culture medium containing a ketone containing compound which is capable of undergoing chiral reduction of the ketone group and recovering the product that is formed in the culture medium.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 45 words
A process for preparing 5-{(R)-1-hydroxy-2-[(R)-1-methyl-3-phenylpropyl)amino]ethyl}salicylamide which comprises culturing the microorganism Aspergillus niveus (ATCC 20922) in a culture medium containing a ketone containing compound which is capable of undergoing chiral reduction of the ketone group and recovering the product that is formed in the culture medium.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 2 wherein the ketone compound is 5-{(R)-[(1-methyl-3-phenylpropyl)-amino]acetyl} salicylamide.
