Abstract
Abstract Disclosed are methods and compositions for the treatment of hair. Treating compositions comprising the amino acid cysteine and a non-reducing disaccharide in solution are disclosed. The methods of the present invention comprise application of the aqueous solution to the hair for permanently altering the natural shape of the hair.
