Abstract
Abstract An electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a detachable controller cartridge in which at least a control circuit is accommodated. The detachable controller cartridge can be detachably accommodated into a housing of the image forming apparatus.

An electrophotographic image forming apparatus comprising; scanning means for optically scanning an image on a document; sheet feed means for feeding a sheet to be printed; image forming means for forming an image data to be printed from a scanned image; printing means for printing the image data on the sheet fed by the sheet feed means; sheet ejecting means for ejecting a printed sheet to an ejection tray; controller means for controlling the scanning means, sheet feed means, image-forming means, printing means and sheet ejecting means so as to carry out a sequence of a printing operation; a housing for accommodating the scanning means, sheet feed means, image forming means, printing means, and the sheet ejecting means; and a controller cartridge detachably accommodated in a space formed into the housing for accommodating the controller means.
