Abstract

Abstract In an electronic endoscope apparatus of the type which uses a solid state imaging device to effect photoelectric conversion of an optical image, the image signal read from the solid state imaging device is subjected to signal processing for changing image size so as to effect enlargement/reduction of an image to be displayed on a monitor, and then the outline of the image signal is enhanced by an outline enhancement circuit. With this arrangement, it is possible to achieve natural outline enhancement.
