Abstract
Abstract An optical information reproducing apparatus comprises a photo-detector, a focusing optical system for focusing an information recording plane of a record carrier having a transparent layer on this recording plane to the photo-detector and an optical element for compensating for astigmation caused by the transparent layer to enhance reliability of information reproduction, and the optical axis of the focusing optical system is inclined relative to a normal line to the information recording plane.
