Abstract
Abstract A sealing disk (34,48) for a filter cell having filter media (44) and netting (42,80) disposed on the unfiltered fluid surfaces of the cell. The disk (34,48) has at least one radial surface and also an aperture (31) disposed axially in the disk. There is a plurality of concentric sealing rings (50,51) extending from the radial surface, the concentric rings being arranged to seal against the filter media. The disk also has a fastening ring extending around the sealing rings, which fastening ring engages the netting (42,80) on the filter media.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
102 words
A method for forming a multi-cell filter, comprising the steps of: (a) forming a plurality of filter cells having reinforcing netting on external surfaces of a filter medium; (b) removing a portion of the reinforcing netting to expose a surface of the filter medium for coactive sealing of the filter medium to a sealing member; (c) disposing a sealing member on the exposed surface of the filter medium and on the surface of the netting to hold the netting; and (d) compressing the sealing member against the cell to secure the netting to the cell and to sealingly engage the filter medium.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
