Abstract

Abstract A conveying type apparatus for processing light-sensitive plates provided with at least two processing baths, which comprises a roller type device for removing a processing solution from the plate processed, wherein said device comprises a pair of squeeze rollers and is disposed at the boundary between a preceding bath and an adjacent subsequent bath so as to separate the solutions in these baths from one another; and means for removing the processing solution on the roller surface. This processing apparatus is small-sized one, requires a small space to occupy and makes it possible to reduce the operation and production cost since the number of squeeze rollers required to prevent the processing solutions from causing admixing with one another due to the solutions carried over by a processed plates.

A conveying type apparatus for processing light-sensitive plates provided with at least two processing baths which comprises a roller type device for removing a processing solution from the plate processed, wherein said device comprises a pair of squeeze rollers and is disposed at the boundary between a preceding bath and an adjacent subsequent bath so as to separate the solutions in these baths from one another; and means for removing the processing solution on the roller surface; wherein the means for removing a processing solution comprises a roller pressed against a lower roller of the paired rollers and disposed on the side of the preceding bath, a roller pressed to the lower roller of the paired rollers and disposed on the side of the subsequent bath and a roller pressed to an upper roller of the paired rollers and disposed on the side of the subsequent bath.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 147 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein the processing baths are those for developing, rinsing and/or desensitizing a presensitized plate for use in making lithographic printing plates, which has been imagewise exposed to light.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein the hardness of the rollers for removing a processing solution is not more than 80° expressed in Vickers hardness.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 26 words
A processing apparatus of claim 3 wherein the hardness of the rollers for removing a processing solution is not more than 60° expressed in Vickers hardness.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
A processing apparatus of claim 3 wherein the hardness of the rollers for removing a processing solution is not more than 45° expressed in Vickers hardness.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 25 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein the nip pressure between the upper and lower squeeze rollers ranges from 0.1 to 20 kg/cm 2 .
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 25 words
A processing apparatus of claim 6 wherein the nip pressure between the upper and lower squeeze rollers ranges from 0.5 to 10 kg/cm 2 .
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 22 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein the developing device is a developer spraying type, a dipping type or a brushless type.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 22 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein the apparatus is a dipping type processing apparatus or an declined conveying type processing apparatus.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 167 words
A processing apparatus of claim 1 wherein an angle (α) between a vertical line passing through the center of a rotational axis of the lower roller and a straight line passing through the center of the rotational axis and that of the roller pressed against the lower roller and disposed on the side of the preceding bath is 10° to 60°, an angle (β) between the vertical line passing through the center of the rotational axis and a straight line passing through the center of the rotational axis and that of the roller pressed against the lower roller and disposed on the side of the subsequent bath is 10° to 60° and an angle (γ) between a vertical line passing through the center of the rotational axis of the upper roller and a straight line passing through the rotational center of the upper roller and that of the roller pressed to the upper roller and disposed on the side of the subsequent bath is 0° to 90°.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 26 words
A processing apparatus of claim 10, wherein the angle (α) and the angle (β) are 20° to 50° and the angle (γ) is 0° to 80°.
