Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 46 words
A process for the production of a layer of hydroxylapatite (HA) on metallic and non-metallic bodies for implants, comprising the steps of: applying a layer of α- or β-tricalcium phosphate (TCP); completely converting said layer into pure HA by reaction with water at an elevated temperature.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 46 words
A process for the production of a layer of hydroxylapatite (HA) on metallic and non-metallic bodies for implants, comprising the steps of: applying a layer of α- or β-tricalcium phosphate (TCP); completely converting said layer into pure HA by reaction with water at an elevated temperature.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein the converting step is carried out at a temperature of from 80° to 100° C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein the aqueous phase has a pH value of from about 2 to 7.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein the layer applied in the first step consists essentially of α-TCP.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein the TCP layer is applied by thermal spraying, vacuum deposition or sputtering with α- or β-TCP.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
A process according to claim 2, wherein the layer consists of α-TCP.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
A process according to claim 2, wherein the water has a pH from about 2 to 7.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to claim 7, wherein the layer applied in the first step consists essentially of α-TCP.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
A process according to claim 1, consisting essentially of the recited steps.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 10 words
An implant produced by the process according to claim 1.
