Abstract
Abstract An imaging system in which images are formed by image-wise exposing a layer containing a chromogenic material and a photosensitive composition in which at least the photosensitive composition is encapsulated in a layer of pressure rupturable capsules. Exposure and capsule rupture renders the chromogenic material image-wise accessible to the developer for a patterned image forming reaction.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
83 words
An imaging process which comprises: image-wise exposing to actinic radiation a coating comprising a substantially colorless chromogenic material and rupturable capsules containing a photosensitive composition which undergoes a change in viscosity in areas in which it has been exposed to actinic radiation, and subjecting said capsules to a uniform rupturing force in the presence of a developer material such that there is a patterned reaction between said chromogenic material and said developer which produces a positive or negative image corresponding to said exposure.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
