Abstract A photoconductive member comprises a drum-shaped substrate and a photoconductive layer which is provided on the drum-shaped substrate and contains an amorphous material comprising silicon atoms as a matrix, and said drum-shaped substrate has a thickness of 2.5 mm or more.
