Abstract
Abstract An electronic musical instrument has a memory capable of storing musical tone waveform data therein. A read circuit reads out the musical tone waveform data from the memory and supplies the readout data to a musical tone generator. The musical tone generator generates a musical tone signal in accordance with the input musical tone waveform data, and outputs the musical tone signal. A write circuit writes new data in the memory at a timing different from the timing at which the read circuit reads out the musical tone waveform data from the memory. The write circuit partially updates the musical tone waveform data stored in the memory, and stores data of a played sound in part of the memory.
