Abstract
Abstract A silver halide photographic emulsion comprising at least one spectral sensitizing dye having the following general formula (I): Dye--J.sup.1 --CONH--J.sup.2 --NHNHG--R (I) wherein Dye represents a dye residue capable of becoming a spectral sensitizing dye; J 1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkylene group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkarylene group; J 2 represents a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group; R represents hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy group; and G represents a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a sulfoxy group, a phosphoryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted iminomethylene group.
