Abstract

Abstract A hospital bed has a table which moves on a slide rail along the length of the bed. The movement of the table is controlled by a motorized lead screw. The table is mounted on a pivotal support so that when not in use, it may be folded into a storage position. The hospital bed is also provided with a motorized storage drawer and a motorized sanitary unit mounted on the bed frame, beneath the mattress. A remote control unit at the headboard of the bed controls the operation of the drawer, a lamp, the sanitary unit and the table.
