Abstract A colored glass suitable for enhancing contrast of color CRT displays consists essentially of, in weight %: -SiO2 40-60% -B2O3 0-6% -Al2O3 0-2% -Sum Li2O + Na2O + K2O 24-30% -Sum MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO + ZnO 0-10% -TiO2 1-3% -CeO2 1-3% -Nd2O3 10-25% -Er2O3 1-5% -Sm2O3 0-3% -Sum Er2O3 + Sm2O3 1-8% -CuO 0.1-0.5% -MnO2 0.1-1.0%. -
