Abstract
Abstract Olefin polymers are degraded in molecular weight in the presence of a free radical initiator under an inert blanket. The degradation preferably is carried out under high shearing stress and/or a high temperature in order to increase the degradation. The degradation may be separate from, overlap, or occur simultaneously with further derivatization of the polymer.
