Claim 1
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for improving the precision of optical density measurements made utilizing a vertical beam photometer to determine the presence or amount of analyte in the wells of a microplate, which comprises: treating the surfaces of the wells of said microplate in order to increase the hydrophilic character of said surfaces prior to adding aqueous sample or reagent to said wells.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for improving the precision of optical density measurements made utilizing a vertical beam photometer to determine the presence or amount of analyte in the wells of a microplate, which comprises: treating the surfaces of the wells of said microplate in order to increase the hydrophilic character of said surfaces prior to adding aqueous sample or reagent to said wells.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method of claim 1, wherein treating comprises coating said surfaces with a surfactant.
