Abstract
Abstract Heterocyclic styryl compounds are prepared by condensing nitrogen heterocyclic compounds such as trimethyl pyridine with dialdehydes and heterocyclic aldehydes such as furfural. These can be further reacted and chain extended with bismaleimides or polymaleimides. The compounds and their reaction products are useful to make heat resistant composites with various fibers such as graphite fibers.
