Abstract

Abstract An optical unit for focusing light on an optical disk in which laser light from a semiconductor laser is passed through a parallelpiped having a diffracting grating on its incident side before being focused on the optical disk. The angle, contained in the plane of the semiconductor laser's junction, between the grating's normal and the optical axis of the laser light is adjusted to a predetermined value.
