Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim
98 words
A robot for installing a fixed length of weather stripping stored in a loading station into a body opening, said robot in combination comprising: an arm supported on a pedestal movable in both horizontal and vertical planes; means on the end of said arm to load said fixed length to said arm from said loading station; and affixing means on the end of said arm and moved by said robot arm for interacting with the opening of said body and guiding and applying said fixed length whereby said fixed length is affixed to the opening of said body.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
29 words
A robot as described in claim 1 further including a rotatably mounted pressure roller on the end of said arm for pressing said fixed length onto said body opening.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
25 words
A robot as described in claim 1 wherein said loading means includes a selectively operable gripper to grab said fixed length from said loading station.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
104 words
A robot for installing a fixed length of weather stripping stored in a loading station into a body opening, said robot in combination comprising: an arm supported on a pedestal movable in both horizontal and vertical planes; a selectively operable gripper on the end of said arm to pull said fixed length from said loading station to load said arm; and a pressure roller rotatively mounted on the end of said arm and moved by said robot arm for tracing the opening of said body and guiding and applying said fixed length whereby said fixed length is affixed to the opening of said body.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
104 words
A robot for installing a fixed length of weather stripping stored in a loading station into a body opening, said robot in combination comprising: an arm supported on a pedestal movable in both horizontal and vertical planes; a selectively operable gripper on the end of said arm to pull said fixed length from said loading station to load said arm; and a pressure roller rotatively mounted on the end of said arm and moved by said robot arm for tracing the opening of said body and guiding and applying said fixed length whereby said fixed length is affixed to the opening of said body.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
13 words
A robot as described in claim 4 wherein said pressure roller is powered.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
17 words
A robot as described in claim 5 further including said pressure roller having a variable rotational velocity.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
50 words
A robot as described in claim 4 further including a guide roller rotatably mounted to the end of said arm having a first position of engagement with said fixed length to align said fixed length with said pressure roller and a second position out of engagement with said fixed length.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
22 words
A robot as described in claim 4 wherein said pressure roller has compliance with respect to said arm along a first axis.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
24 words
A robot as described in claim 8 wherein pressure roller has compliance with said arm in a second axis perpendicular to said first axis.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
34 words
A robot as described in claim 7 having an idler roller on the end of said arm supporting said fixed length generally opposite said guide roller in said first position of said guide roller.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim
198 words
A robot for installing a fixed length of weather stripping stored in a loading station into a body opening, said robot in combination comprising: an arm supported on a pedestal movable in both horizontal and vertical planes; a selectively operable gripper on the end of said arm to pull said fixed length from said loading station to load said arm; a guide roller rotatably mounted to the end of said arm having a first position of engagement with said fixed length to align said fixed length and said guide roller having a second position out of engagement with said fixed length; an idler roller on the end the of said arm supporting said fixed length generally opposite said guide roller in said first position of said guide roller; and a powered pressure roller rotatively mounted on the end of said arm and moved by said robot arm having variable rotational velocity and compliance with respect to said arm in two axis, said pressure roller receiving said fixed length from said guide roller and guiding and applying said fixed length while tracing the opening of said body whereby said fixed length is affixed to the opening of said body.
