Abstract

Abstract A system for quickly converging the ignition timing to a desired timing when a large deviation occurred in the ignition timing. Change of engine operating conditions which will cause such a deviation is detected by a large engine knock to produce a correction signal. In response to the correction signal, an ignition timing correcting quantity is increased so as to quickly correct the ignition timing.
