Abstract

Abstract The photoconductor of an electrophotographic recording material comprising an electrically conductive support, an optional insulating interlayer, and a photoconductive single layer containing a binder, a dye or pigment sensitizer and a pyrimido[5',4':5,6]pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazole charge transporting compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R 1 and R 2 are identical or different and are hydrogen or an R 3 ,R 4 N group; R 3 and R 4 are identical or different and are (C 1 to C 4 )-alkyl, hydroxy-(C 1 to C 4 )-alkyl, phenyl or benzyl which are unsubstituted or (C 1 to C 4 )-alkyl-substituted, or, together with the N atom to which they are bonded, are an imidazolyl or triazolyl group; and R 5 is a benzothiazole, a benzoxazole or a benzimidazole group, is photosensitive in the visible range around 430 to 500 nm and can be sensitized for the longer-wavelength region with dyes.
