Abstract

Abstract A power supply circuit for a vehicle for providing power to motorized accessories, such as power windows and sun roofs, even after the vehicle ignition has been switched off. The power supply circuit includes a relay having relay contacts for delivering power to the accessory drive motor, and a relay coil which is energized upon switching on of the vehicle ignition. The relay is self-holding and continues to be energized even after the ignition has been switched off. However, when a door of the vehicle is opened, as detected by the closing of a door switch, the relay coil is de-energized and power to the accessory drive motor is terminated. In an alternative embodiment, power to the accessory drive motor is not terminated until after sequential opening and closing of a vehicle door.
