Abstract

Abstract There is provided a method for indirect bonding of chemically or light curable resin based restoratives especially acrylates and methacrylates, to the metal base of dental cast restorations. The invention is particularly useful in cases of in situ repairs of damaged or worn porcelain or polymeric veneers on cast restorations made of precious and non-precious metals. According to the invention, the exposed metal of the restoration is covered with a layer of primer consisting essentially of a copolymer of polymethacrylic or polyacrylic acid followed by the application of the polymerizable restorative material.
