Abstract
Abstract An image display device has an image display window, an endless photosensitive belt, an image exposure unit, a semiconductor laser oscillator, developing equipment, an optical system, and a sequence controller. When a power-OFF switch is depressed, the current display image on the belt is erased first and then power is cut off. When the operator accidentally forgets to erase an image, the sequence controller automatically erases the image to allow protection of confidential data. However, a previous image can be redisplayed within a predetermined time after erasure of this image.
