Claim 3
Dependent Claim
41 words
A copying method as claimed in claim 1, wherein assuming information are printed horizontally on the documents, the documents are duplicated such that a right half of the paper constitutes the one half and a left half constitutes the other half.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
41 words
A copying method as claimed in claim 1, wherein assuming information are printed vertically on the documents, the documents are duplicated such that a left half of the paper constitutes the one half and a right half constitutes the other half.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
51 words
A copying method as claimed in claim 1, wherein documents with information printed vertically are loaded in a document tray of the copier in one top-bottom orientation and documents with information printed horizontally are loaded in the document tray in another top-bottom orientations which is opposite to the first-mentioned top-bottom orientation.
Claim 6
Independent Claim
190 words
A method of operating a copier for bookbinding to duplicate a plurality of documents onto a predetermined number of papers which are equal in size to the documents, such that when the papers are bound at a center thereof each of the documents is duplicated in two spread pages of the center-bound papers, said copying method comprising the steps of: feeding a blank paper i into the copier, where i represents one of the papers; duplicating one half of one of the documents d onto one half of a back face of the paper i, where d represents one of the documents; retaining the paper i in the copier; feeding a next paper i+1 into the copier; duplicating the other half of the document d onto one half of a front face of the paper i+1; feeding a last paper of the predetermined number of papers into the copier; duplicating opposite halves of one of the documents onto a back face of the last paper; passing the last paper from the copier; thereafter, duplicating one half of a document onto one half of a face of the retained paper i.

Claim 8
Independent Claim
213 words
A method of operating a copier for bookbinding to form a book in which pages of copied documents appear on only one of two adjacent pages of the book when opened, comprising the steps of: setting up a relation ##EQU6## where N is a total number of pages of documents to be copied and I is a number of blank papers; feeding the number of papers I into the copier; during said feeding step, duplicating a portion of the document pages onto first halves of a portion of the total number of the fed papers I and retaining the papers in the copier; during the duplicating step immediately above, leaving blank a number of the first halves of the fed papers in an order such that, following binding, a document page will appear on only one of two adjacent pages when the bound pages are spread to expose adjacent ones of the first halves; thereafter, duplicating the remaining document pages onto second halves of the fed and retained papers, leaving blank a number of the second halves of the papers in an order such that, following binding, a document page will appear on only one of two adjacent pages when the bound pages are spread to expose adjacent ones of the second halves.
