Abstract
Abstract Blends of propylene polymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and optionally a synthetic rubber, with small amounts of a polyterpene resin as a compatabilizer, possess excellent properties for the manufacture of heat-sealable and sterilizable films as well as for the manufacture of molded speciality sealed containers and bottles.

A polymer composition adapted for the manufacture of heat-sealable and sterlizable films, sealed containers or bottles comprised of: (a) from about 10 to about 98 wt % of a propylene polymer selected from the group consisting of propylene homopolymer, a random copolymer of propylene and ethylene containing from about 0.5 to about 6 wt % polymerized ethylene, or a mixture of said homopolymer or copolymer; (b) from about 1 to about 50 wt % of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer; (c) from about 0 to about 60 wt % of a synthetic rubber; and (d) from about 0.01 to about 1.5 wt % based on the total weight of (a), (b) and (c) of a polyterpene resin.
