Abstract

Abstract A system for controlling the fuel injection amount in an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection amount is calculated based on the ratio of the amount of intake air measured by an air flow meter to the engine speed. The injection amount is maintained at not less than a predetermined minimum amount during the starting of the engine even if an undershoot occurs in the signal level from the air flow meter after the starter has been switched off. Thus, a sharp decrease in the engine speed is prevented, and thus engine stalling is also prevented.
