Disposable enema unit

Claim 2

A disposable enema unit comprising: a fluid receptacle adapted to be filled with sterile enema fluid; a rectal tip having one end connected to said receptacle and a passage therethrough communicating with the interior of said bottle for allowing exit of fluid from said receptacle; a break-off tab connected to the other end of said rectal tip, said break-off tab completely sealing said passage to prevent contamination of said fluid; and a protective sleeve attached to said break-off tab covering said rectal tip when said break-off tab is attached to said rectal tip and coming away from said rectal tip when the break-off tab is removed.

Claim 3

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 1 further comprising projecting means attached to said break-off tab to permit said break-off tab to be gripped and twisted off from said rectal tip.

Claim 4

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 2 wherein said rectal tip is lubricated.

Claim 5

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 3 wherein said break-off tab comprises a spherical center portion removably affixed to said other end of said rectal tip.

Claim 6

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 4 wherein said projecting means comprises at least one ear portion attached to said center portion to allow said center portion to be gripped and twisted.

Claim 7

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 5 wherein said sleeve is comprised of a heat shrinkable material.

Claim 8

A disposable enema unit comprising: a bottle adapted to be filled with sterile enema fluid; a rectal tip having an elongated substantially conical shape having the base end connected to said bottle and a passage therethrough communicating with the interior of said bottle for allowing exit of fluid from said bottle; a spherical break-off tab connected to the apex of said rectal tip, the diameter of said spherical tab being sufficient to completely seal said passage to prevent contamination of said fluid; a lubricant disposed on the exterior of said rectal tip; a protective sleeve attached to said break-off tab covering the exterior of said rectal tip and said lubricant when said break-off tab is attached to said tip.

Claim 9

A disposable enema unit comprising: a bottle adapted to be filled with sterile enema fluid; a rectal tip having an elongated substantially conical shape having the base end connected to said bottle and a passage therethrough communicating with the interior of said bottle for allowing exit of fluid from said bottle; a spherical break-off tab connected to the apex of said rectal tip, the diameter of said spherical tab being sufficient to completely seal said passage to prevent contamination of said fluid; a lubricant disposed on the exterior of said rectal tip; a protective sleeve attached to said break-off tab covering the exterior of said rectal tip and said lubricant when said break-off tab is attached to said tip.

Claim 10

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 7 further comprising a pair of ears attached to said break-off tab in a diametrically opposed relationship to allow said tab to be gripped and twisted.

Claim 11

A disposable enema unit in accordance with claim 8 wherein said sleeve is comprised of a heat shrinkable material.

Claim 12

A sleeve for use with a disposable enema unit, comprising a generally barrel-shaped frame which tapers towards the top and a pair of diametrically-opposed vertical members formed as an integral part of said barrel-shaped frame by slits in said barrel-shaped frame, each said vertical member located below an opening sized so that an ear of a tip of a disposable enema unit may protrude therethrough.

Claim 13

A sleeve for use with a disposable enema unit, comprising a generally barrel-shaped frame which tapers towards the top and a pair of diametrically-opposed vertical members formed as an integral part of said barrel-shaped frame by slits in said barrel-shaped frame, each said vertical member located below an opening sized so that an ear of a tip of a disposable enema unit may protrude therethrough.

Claim 14

A sleeve in accordance with claim 10 wherein said sleeve further comprises a plurality of vertically extending ribs located on the inside of said sleeve.

Claim 15

A sleeve in accordance with claim 10 wherein said sleeve further comprises four vertically extending ribs located on the inside of said sleeve.

Claim 16

A sleeve in accordance with claims 11 or 12 wherein said ribs are spaced at equal intervals around the inner circumference of the sleeve.

Claim 17

A sleeve in accordance with claims 11 or 12 wherein said ribs extend from the bottom of said sleeve to a location slightly higher than the bottom of said vertical members.

Claim 18

A disposable fluid dispenser including a fluid receptacle and a closure means integrally engaged with said receptacle and having a passage therein communicating with the interior of said receptacle, said closure means including a break-off tab having projecting means to permit said break-off tab to be moved relative to other portions of said closure means to break away therefrom and form an external opening through said closure means to said passage whereby fluid in said receptacle may be removed; a sleeve at least partially enclosing said closure means and having a portion thereof engaging said projecting means such that movement of said sleeve will cause said break-off tab to move correspondingly therewith and when moved a selected distance will cause said break-off tab to break away.

Claim 19

A disposable fluid dispenser including a fluid receptacle and a closure means integrally engaged with said receptacle and having a passage therein communicating with the interior of said receptacle, said closure means including a break-off tab having projecting means to permit said break-off tab to be moved relative to other portions of said closure means to break away therefrom and form an external opening through said closure means to said passage whereby fluid in said receptacle may be removed; a sleeve at least partially enclosing said closure means and having a portion thereof engaging said projecting means such that movement of said sleeve will cause said break-off tab to move correspondingly therewith and when moved a selected distance will cause said break-off tab to break away.

Claim 20

A dispenser as set forth in claim 15 wherein said sleeve is coaxial with said break off-tab and is adapted to be rotated about its axis to cause said break-off tab to break away.
