Abstract

Abstract The present invention provides a negative electrode plate for alkaline storage cells of the sealed type which comprises an active material layer formed on each of opposite surfaces of an electrically conductive carrier sheet from a paste composed chiefly of a cadmium oxide powder, and an electrically conductive layer comprising a carbon powder and formed over the surface of the active material layer, which gives e.g., greatly improved ability to absorb oxygen gas.
