Abstract
Abstract A monomer having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R 1 is H or methyl; R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are independently alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; and R 5 and R 6 are independently H, halo, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, thioalkyl, thioaryl, or thioaralkyl, is useful in preparing a polymer having a high refractive index. The polymer is useful in forming optical components, such as lenses.
