Abstract
Abstract Our invention pertains to various new compositions, methods for using such compositions and products treated with such compositions. Our new compositions include, among other things, certain antimicrobial agents solubilized with certain disubstituted aryl compounds.

An antimicrobial composition for controlling bacterial and fungi comprising in combination: (a) a metal chelate of 8-hydroxy quinoline in which the metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, mercury, cadmium, nickel, tin, aluminum and zinc, (b) an alkyl benzene sulfonic acid wherein the alkyl group is C 6 to C 18 , said metal chelate being solubilized by said sulfonic acid, (c) the weight ratio of said metal chelate to said alkyl benzene sulfonic acid being between about 1:5 and 1:14.
