Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A process for the production of an amine composition containing a high yield ratio of diethylenetriamine to piperazine which comprises maintaining ethylenediamine in the presence of a nickel, cobalt or rhodium catalyst, wherein the metal is present on the surface of the catalyst in a polyatomic form, and at a temperature between about 170° C. to about 210° C. and for a reaction time sufficient to produce diethylenetriamine and convert less than about 35% of the ethylenediamine to polyamine.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 79 words
A process for the production of an amine composition containing a high yield ratio of diethylenetriamine to piperazine which comprises maintaining ethylenediamine in the presence of a nickel, cobalt or rhodium catalyst, wherein the metal is present on the surface of the catalyst in a polyatomic form, and at a temperature between about 170° C. to about 210° C. and for a reaction time sufficient to produce diethylenetriamine and convert less than about 35% of the ethylenediamine to polyamine.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the catalyst is Raney nickel.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the catalyst is Raney cobalt.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the catalyst is Ni/Re/B on a silica support.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the conversion of ethylenediamine is less than about 30%.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the conversion of ethylenediamine is less than about 25%.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 85 words
A process for the production of an amine composition containing a high yield ratio of diethylenetriamine to piperazine which comprises maintaining a mixture of ethylenediamine and monoethanolamine in the presence of a nickel, cobalt or rhodium catalyst, wherein the metal is present on the surface of the catalyst in a polyatomic form, and at a temperature between about 170° C. and about 210° C. and for a reaction time sufficient to produce diethylenetriamine and convert less than about 35% of the amine reactants to polyamine.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 85 words
A process for the production of an amine composition containing a high yield ratio of diethylenetriamine to piperazine which comprises maintaining a mixture of ethylenediamine and monoethanolamine in the presence of a nickel, cobalt or rhodium catalyst, wherein the metal is present on the surface of the catalyst in a polyatomic form, and at a temperature between about 170° C. and about 210° C. and for a reaction time sufficient to produce diethylenetriamine and convert less than about 35% of the amine reactants to polyamine.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 7 wherein the catalyst is Raney nickel.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 7 wherein the catalyst is Raney cobalt.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 7 wherein the catalyst is Ni/Re/B on a silica support.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 7 wherein the conversion of amine reactants is less than about 30%.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 7 wherein the conversion of amine reactants is less than about 25%.
