Abstract
Abstract The new dibenzoylmethane derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R 1 denotes hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and R 2 denotes methyl or ethyl and R 3 represents a straight-chain or branched lower alkyl radical, can be prepared by reacting acetophenone derivatives with an anisic ester or by reacting a substituted benzoic ester with p-methoxyacetophenone. The compounds can be used in sunscreen agents.
