Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim
44 words
A method for removing resin flashes formed during molding of a workpiece by wet blasting, wherein a slurry comprising a synthetic resin abrasive, water and a non-ionic surfactant containing no trace of metal ions, halogens, ammonia, phosphorus and sulfur is blasted onto the workpiece.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
44 words
A method for removing resin flashes formed during molding of a workpiece by wet blasting, wherein a slurry comprising a synthetic resin abrasive, water and a non-ionic surfactant containing no trace of metal ions, halogens, ammonia, phosphorus and sulfur is blasted onto the workpiece.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein the surfactant is contained in the slurry in an amount of 0.0001 to 1% by weight.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
16 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein the synthetic resin abrasive comprises particles having cutting edges.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
14 words
A method according to claim 3, wherein the particles are of a thermosetting resin.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
29 words
A method according to claim 4, wherein the thermosetting resin is selected from the group consisting of epoxy resin, urea resin, unsaturated polyester resin, alkyd resin and melamine resin.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim

A method according to claim 3, wherein the particles have an average size of 0.05 to 2.0 mm.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
21 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein the synthetic resin abrasive has the non-ionic surfactant at least on the surface thereof.
Claim 10
Independent Claim
57 words
A method for removing resin flashes formed during molding of a workpiece comprising the steps of forming cracks in the flashes by blasting a slurry comprising a synthetic resin abrasive, water and a non-ionic surfactant onto the workpiece and allowing the water to enter the cracks due to said surfactant whereby removal of said flashes is facilitated.
Claim 11
Independent Claim
57 words
A method for removing resin flashes formed during molding of a workpiece comprising the steps of forming cracks in the flashes by blasting a slurry comprising a synthetic resin abrasive, water and a non-ionic surfactant onto the workpiece and allowing the water to enter the cracks due to said surfactant whereby removal of said flashes is facilitated.
