Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 52 words
An acrylic adhesive composition having improved stability, comprising: a free radical polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylate and methacrylate esters; a free radical initiator; and an amount of hydroquinone and an amount of an alpha amino phosphonic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof effective to avoid premature gelation.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 52 words
An acrylic adhesive composition having improved stability, comprising: a free radical polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylate and methacrylate esters; a free radical initiator; and an amount of hydroquinone and an amount of an alpha amino phosphonic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof effective to avoid premature gelation.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 71 words
An acrylic adhesive composition having improved stability, comprising: a free radical polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylate and methacrylate esters; a free radical initiator; hydroquinone, being present in a range of from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03-0.10% by weight); and alpha amino phosphonic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof, being present in a range from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03-0.10 percent by weight).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 71 words
An acrylic adhesive composition having improved stability, comprising: a free radical polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylate and methacrylate esters; a free radical initiator; hydroquinone, being present in a range of from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03-0.10% by weight); and alpha amino phosphonic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof, being present in a range from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03-0.10 percent by weight).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 123 words
An acrylic adhesive composition, having improved stability, comprising two parts: a first part comprising: (a) from about 50 to about 97 percent by weight of free radical polymerizable acrylate or methacrylate monomers; (b) from about 1 to about 25 percent by weight of an impact-modifying additive selected from the group consisting of elastomers, acrylate oligomers and methacrylate oligomers; (c) from about 1 to about 10 percent by weight of a free radical initiator; (d) from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03 to 0.10 percent by weight) of hydroquinone; and (e) from about 300 to about 1000 ppm (0.03 to 0.10 percent by weight) of alpha amino phosphonic acid, or an alkali metal salt thereof; and a second part comprising a suitable accelerator.
Claim 6
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 21 words
An acrylic adhesive composition, as described in claims 1 and 2, wherein the alpha amino phosphonic acid is aminotri(methylene phosphonic acid).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 25 words
An acrylic adhesive composition, as described in claims 1 and 2, wherein the alpha amino phosphonic acid is the pentasodium salt of aminotri(trismethylene phosphonic acid).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 36 words
An acrylic adhesive composition, as described in claims 1 and 2, wherein the free radical polymerizable monomers are selected from the group consisting of methacrylic acid, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, hydroxy propyl acrylate, tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate and dicyclopentenyloxyethyl methacrylate.
