Claim 1
Independent Claim 40 words
A paper coating composition comprising a pigment, a binder, and as an insolubilizer for the binder the hemiacetal product of the reaction of glyoxal and a polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerin, sorbitol, dextrine, α-methylglucoside, and their mixtures.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 40 words
A paper coating composition comprising a pigment, a binder, and as an insolubilizer for the binder the hemiacetal product of the reaction of glyoxal and a polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerin, sorbitol, dextrine, α-methylglucoside, and their mixtures.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 47 words
A process for insolubilizing the binder in a paper coating composition which comprises including in the composition about 1 to 3 percent of the hemiacetal product of the reaction of glyoxal and a polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerin, sorbitol, dextrine, α-methylglucoside, and their mixtures.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 47 words
A process for insolubilizing the binder in a paper coating composition which comprises including in the composition about 1 to 3 percent of the hemiacetal product of the reaction of glyoxal and a polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerin, sorbitol, dextrine, α-methylglucoside, and their mixtures.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
