Abstract

Abstract An improved skin closure device is disclosed which includes a pair of attachment members adapted to be positioned along either side of a wound to be closed, wherein the wound is of the type having a denuded region between the marginal edges of the wound. The device includes a plurality of pins associated with the attachment members for the purpose of mechanically securing the attachment members to underlying skin layers, as well as an adhesive interface adapted to adhesively secure the attachment members to the epidermis. A number of interconnecting devices are disclosed which operate to provide a biasing force tending to bring the two attachment members together in order to close the wound gradually and progressively.
