Total Claims: 2
Claim 1
Independent Claim 96 words
A method of applying a polyvinylidene chloride barrier resin coating to a polyethylene terephthalate preform comprising neutralizing the static charge on said preform by conditioning said preform with ionized air, dipping said preform into a dispersion or latex of said polyvinylidene chloride over a period of 1 to 3 seconds to coat at least the lower two-thirds of said preform, removing said preform from said dispersion or latex over a period of 7 to 14 seconds, drying said coating, and removing the drip which forms on the bottom of the coated preform during said drying step.
