Abstract

Abstract A clutch actuator for use in a motor driven conveyor system includes an electrical motor and a conveyor driven by the motor with a clutch interconnecting the motor and conveyor in drive relation. The clutch actuator is responsive to motor current for actuating the clutch for selectively disconnecting the motor and the conveyor. A clutch actuator actuates the clutch, for disconnecting the motor from the conveyor, when the sense current is greater than a selectively adjusted predetermined value. The clutch actuator is selectively manually actuated for actuating the clutch for disconnecting the motor from the conveyor and selectively manually actuated for actuating the clutch for connecting the motor to the conveyor.
