Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 66 words
A method for substantially preventing growth of aquatic weeds comprising laying a film of synthetic thermoplastic polymer onto the bed of a water body, said film having a plurality of incisions therein, each incision being shaped to form at least one flap of film adjacent the incision, such film also having a light transmittance in the 200 to 650 nm wavelength range of less than 50%.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 66 words
A method for substantially preventing growth of aquatic weeds comprising laying a film of synthetic thermoplastic polymer onto the bed of a water body, said film having a plurality of incisions therein, each incision being shaped to form at least one flap of film adjacent the incision, such film also having a light transmittance in the 200 to 650 nm wavelength range of less than 50%.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein each incision in the film is shaped such that the flaps adjacent each incision have an area of between about 1 and about 25 cm 2 , and in which weeds are rooted in the water bed and the film is laid over the weeds.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method according to claim 2 wherein there are between about 36 incisions and 1 incision per square meter of film.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 3 wherein each incision is vee-shaped.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method according to claim 3 wherein the thermoplastic synethtic polymer is nylon.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 19 words
A method according to claim 5 wherein the nylon film is cast nylon 6 or cast nylon 66 film.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 84 words
A method for substantially preventing growth of aquatic weeds comprising laying a cast nylon film onto the bed of a water body, said nylon film having a thickness of between about 25 and 250 μm, containing between about 0.2 to 2.0% carbon black, and having a plurality of incisions therein, each incision being shaped to form at least one flap of film adjacent the incision, such film also having a light transmittance in the 200 to 650 nm wavelength range of less than 50%.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 84 words
A method for substantially preventing growth of aquatic weeds comprising laying a cast nylon film onto the bed of a water body, said nylon film having a thickness of between about 25 and 250 μm, containing between about 0.2 to 2.0% carbon black, and having a plurality of incisions therein, each incision being shaped to form at least one flap of film adjacent the incision, such film also having a light transmittance in the 200 to 650 nm wavelength range of less than 50%.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 34 words
A method according to claim 7 wherein each incision in the film is shaped such that the flaps adjacent each incision have an area of between about 1 and about 25 cm 2 .
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method according to claim 8 wherein there are between about 36 incisions and 1 incision per square meter of film.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 9 wherein each incision is vee-shaped.
