Abstract

Abstract Fire resistant thermal insulating composite structures, particularly garments, comprised of a mixture of from about 50 to about 94 percent by weight of inorganic microfibers, particularly glass, and about 50 to about 6 percent by weight of a heat resistant binding agent. The structures are porous, allowing them to breath. The structures are also flexible and pliant and have a Thermal Resistance of at least about 25 seconds.
