Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 84 words
A method for preparing an electroconductive foam which comprises: (1) saturating a foam comprising a polymer containing a plurality of urethane or thiourethane or thiourea or isocyanurate or thioisocyanurate or a combination of such groups which foam also contains a halogenated polymer with a dehydrohalogenating agent at a temperature and time sufficient to at least partially dehydrohalogenate the halogenated polymer; (2) washing the foam with a suitable inert medium so as to substantially remove the dehydrohalogenating agent and (3) drying the thus treated foam.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 41 words
A method of claim 1 wherein said dehydrohalogenating agent is a primary amine and the foam saturated therewith is subject to a temperature of from about 15° C. to about 250° C. for from about 2 minutes to about 14 days.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
A method of claim 2 wherein said treated foam is subjected to a temperature of from about 25° C. to about 120° C. for from about 8 minutes to about 8 hours.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method of claim 3 wherein said dehydrohalogenating agent is a polyalkylene polyamine.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method of claim 4 wherein said polyalkylene polyamine is diethylenetriamine.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 31 words
A method of claims 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 wherein step 2 is accomplished by one or more water wash steps optionally followed by one or more alcohol wash steps.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 10 words
A method of claim 6 wherein said alcohol is methanol.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 26 words
A method of claims 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 wherein said halogenated polymer is a polymer or copolymer containing vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride copolymer.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method of claim 6 wherein said halogenated polymer is a polymer or copolymer containing vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride copolymer.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 20 words
A method of claim 7 wherein halogenated polymer is a polymer or copolymer containing vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride copolymer.
