Abstract

Abstract The blending of an effective amount of an ethylene/carbon monoxide polymer with an internally plasticized vinyl chloride copolymer improves the low temperature flexibility and color stability during ageing of films made from the resulting blend as compared to films containing the internally plasticized resin in the absence of the ethylene/carbon monoxide polymer.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
A film-forming blend containing an internally plasticized vinyl chloride copolymer which comprises from about 50% to about 85%, by weight, vinyl chloride, from about 3% to about 47%, by weight, of a C 6 -C 10 alkyl acrylate, and from about 47% to about 3%, by weight, of a bis(hydrocarbyl)vinylphosphonate with an effective amount of an ethylene/carbon monoxide terpolymer to improve the physical properties of a film formed therefrom.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 69 words
A film-forming blend containing an internally plasticized vinyl chloride copolymer which comprises from about 50% to about 85%, by weight, vinyl chloride, from about 3% to about 47%, by weight, of a C 6 -C 10 alkyl acrylate, and from about 47% to about 3%, by weight, of a bis(hydrocarbyl)vinylphosphonate with an effective amount of an ethylene/carbon monoxide terpolymer to improve the physical properties of a film formed therefrom.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 44 words
A blend as claimed in claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of internally plasticized copolymer to ethylene/carbon monoxide terpolymer ranges from about 4:1 to about 1.5:1 and wherein the internally plasticized copolymer comprises from about 40% to about 60%, by weight of the blend.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
A film formed from the blend of either claims 1 or 2.
