Abstract

Abstract A fabric which is coated on at least its upper exposed surface with a heat-reflective and heat-retentive metallic coating containing from about 85% to about 99% copper. The copper is coated with a non-metallic material such as a silicate or silicon oxide. The fabric of the invention is particularly useful in covers for ironing boards, pressing machines and the like, but is useful in any application which calls for a heat-reflective, heat-retentive, flexible, porous metallized fabric.
